AIDA Instructor Course

AIDA instructors are among the best trained freediving instructors in the world, with more stringent requirements than many other agencies. That’s why when students come to get trained in freediving, the majority will choose AIDA.

The AIDA Freediving Instructor Course prepares candidates to function as a professional Freediving Instructor. The structured design of the AIDA Instructor Course will introduce you to the AIDA system and help you gain the knowledge, skills and teaching techniques to be ready to teach in a professional, competent and confident way.

5 qualities required of a freediving instructor:
  • Patience
  • Empathy
  • Passion (firstly for teaching others and then for freediving)
  • Organisation
  • Communication

This is an extremely intensive course both physically and mentally and the instructor candidate should already posses a high competency of freediving and be able to meet the listed diving depth and time requirements. The primary objective of the AIDA Instructor course is to teach you (the instructor candidate) how to teach others (prospective students), how to freedive safely and competently to AIDA standards. If you feel yourself that you need some additional training to gain confidence or are close but not quite meeting the requirements for passing the IC, a training period before the course can be organised and is a great way to prepare yourself before starting the instructor course.

On this course you are expected to have the right attitude to become a freediving instructor, an in-depth knowledge of theory, exemplary freediving skills and experience prior to registration on the course.
